The ground, near Rugby, has been a clay shooting ground for over three decades and has permission to shoot two days a week.
But it was forced to close some of its layouts temporarily, after a resident complained about the noise.
Tests carried out by Daventry environmental health officers found despite earth bunds being built the noise concentrated around the Skeet and Sportrap layouts, so have closed these areas while further investigations are carried out. Further bund building measures are to be taken around these areas to sort the problem out and the ground hopes to reopen the layouts in future.
Shooters at Barby are still able to use the English Sporting and pool shoots and the corporate and tuition areas are still available.
The ground is urging loyal shooters to lend their support and help it return to full operating status by writing to Mr Paul Knight, Environmental Health, Daventry District Council, Lodge Road, Daventry NN11 4FP.
