Trouble with teal

Q I have been struggling with all types of teal targets. One day I can hit them, another day I miss the same target four times in a row. Some good shooters have given me tips and I had a lesson just for teal. I hit a few more but after a week or two I’m right back to missing more than I hit. Can you help?

The right contacts

Q I’m 55 years old, have been wearing glasses for 20 years and have always shot in prescription shooting glasses. However, I have just had a free trial with daily disposable contact lenses and WOW – I’m shooting better and getting the scores to prove it. The contacts are comfortable and user friendly, however, I think my vision is more pin-sharp in glasses, yet my scores have improved. Why is this?

Muzzle brake on a shotgun?

Q I went rifle shooting with a friend recently. His rifle, in 30-06 calibre, had a device called a ‘muzzle brake’ fitted to the threaded muzzle. He said this significantly reduced recoil, he thought by almost 50 per cent, and made his rifle (which was quite light) much more comfortable to shoot, like shooting a much smaller calibre. I have seen adverts for muzzle brakes for shotguns and wondered if they would make a similar difference, like making a 12-gauge feel like a 20. Is that possible?
