Sporting Targets, Riseley, held this year’s County Sportrap Championship on 9 August. The weather was sunny and dry though as the day went on the wind picked up and a few targets were affected. The organisers set up a hard shoot with tricky angles and variances in speed to test the competitors. As one of the minor disciplines, the event attracted 15 Bedfordshire native shooters: eight Seniors, four Veterans, two Juniors and one Lady.
County champion for 2014 was Steve Leonard with 89, Andy Nixon followed with 81. Veteran High Gun was Jim Munday on 85, followed by John Stanton in second with 79. Dave Ferriman took the Junior title with 83, way ahead of second-placed Jack Nixon on 55. Becky Elmore took the Ladies category with 60.
