Hereford & Worcester celebrates 70 years

manGuardian of the Birmingham Proof House Ian Butler is celebrating his Hereford & Worcester Shooting Ground’s 70th anniversary this year. He has owned the ground since 1981, but it already had a rich history within the gun trade when Westley Richards Gunmakers used the ground when it first started in 1946, then shortly after by William Powell Gunmakers.

Today H&W SG has an exquisite clubhouse in the style of a Scottish sporting lodge, and the ground uses 60 automatic clay traps for Skeet, Sporting and Trap throughout woodland and by the lakeside. Ian said: “So much has changed since I started, but it’s been an absolute pleasure to put my mark on the grounds. We’ve recently undergone substantial renovations to parts of the 20-acre site. We’re proud with what we’ve achieved and we’ve been very lucky to attract some fantastic customers.’’
