Clay Shooting Classic Day 1: Faulds takes early lead

— FULL LEADERBOARD: – MAIN CLASSICSERVICES CLASSIC

Richard Faulds
Richard Faulds tops the leaderboard after the first day of the Clay Shooting Classic.

The 2000 Olympic gold medallist shot 144 ex-150 in total across the Classic’s Red and Blue courses, giving him the overnight lead four targets ahead of James Bradley-Day, who leads the AA and Junior rankings.

With three days of the main competition remaining, there’s still everything to shoot for, with big names such as George Digweed, Ed Solomons, Steve Brightwell, Chris Childerhouse, Guy Franklin, Huw Stephens and Graham Stirzaker still to take on the course at Southdown.

And with a finals day taking place for the first time in the history of the Classic, the final outcomes won’t be known until Sunday.

12 competitors in each class and category progress to the final, so anyone making the top 12 is in with a chance of winning the top prizes.

To book a last-minute spot for the remaining days, call Southdown on 01903 877555.
