Top coaches get new academy

Duncan Greaves

Shotgun coaches can now boost their skills and knowledge at an advanced level, thanks to the launch of The Shooting Academy of Advanced Shotgun Coaches.

The academy is an independent training facility specially for advanced professional coaches, and is the brainchild of Duncan Greaves and Stewart Ogden, who between them have assessed and verified shotgun coaches, as well as other national awards, for 20 years.

It promises a fresh new way of expanding coaching skills within a small group, to ensure all candidates receive individual attention and feedback, and advanced training events are set to be held this autumn and winter.

Stewart Ogden

Stewart Ogden told us: “Bringing our wealth of experience and knowledge together to cope with the amazing levels of enquiries that we get, seemed to be the sensible thing to do”.
Both Duncan and Stewart have nationally recognised assessor and verifier qualifications and are occupationally competent in all aspects of their shooting professions.

Each course is broken down into day modules, enabling each candidate to decide whether to choose particular daily modules or to complete all course modules over three days. All modules are individually certificated.

Due to demand the academy will also present individual day courses on the basics of shotgun coaching. This will be ideal for anyone thinking of enrolling onto an established shotgun coach training programme, or for those involved in the world of corporate clay pigeon shooting.

To ensure the training courses are held frequently, no more than four candidates are enrolled daily. Further venues that would like to host these events are still being sought; anyone interested should contact Duncan or Stewart. For details or to help with venues call Duncan on 07831 327235 or Stewart on 01529 460094.

    Not another one ?
It’ll be yet another course run by a certain few with enormous ego’s to make a lot of extra cash. The same as all the others. Then they will insist that they are the best and the only qualification worth having etc, etc. Just like all the others.
Another £1000 or so I suppose ? just like all the others, so only those in the home counties that want to do it can afford it.
It all reminds me of double glazing companies…..our window are better than yours etc, etc. When they are all rip off merchants wanting to make money.
Frankly…..we don’t need another one of these academies or what ever they want to call themselves this time.
