After hitting 143 in the qualification stage of the ISSF World Cup in Gabala, Britain’s Steve Scott advanced to the semi-final along with USA’s Glenn Eller, China’s Binyuan Hu, Asab Mohd from India, as well as German Michael Goldbrunner and Vasily Mosin of Russia.
In the top six, Steve went perfect to secure a place in the gold medal shoot-off and secured Britain its fourth Olympic quota place for Rio 2016.
He faced a tough challenge against Beijing 2008’s gold medal winner, Glenn Eller, and shot well for 26, but the American went perfect to take the top prize, pushing Steve into second place. Vasily Mosin also went 30-straight in the bronze medal match against Michael Goldbrunner to take the final place on the podium.
Steve became the second Brit to win a medal in Azerbaijan.
