After counting and re-counting votes, it is official: Sporting Targets in Bedfordshire is the Nation’s Favourite Shooting Ground for 2016.
1 – Sporting Targets
Set in a great location in the centre of England, Sporting Targets is easily accessed via good road links from all parts of the country. A number of readers wrote in from far to say positive things, including John Cooper who said: “It is a brilliant ground because the targets are good and everyone is kind and helpful.”
It is split into three sections with a large clubhouse and shop in the centre that provides all the amenities you need for a comfortable day out shooting. The ground also hosts two major competitions each year: the Jack Pyke English Open and the High Tower Challenge. These attract a number of shooters from around the country because of the fun nature of each event and the great prizes on offer.

2 – Southdown Gun Club
Based in the south of England, this ground always features heavily among the top vote getters. It has hosted a number of the biggest competitions in the British calendar and has fantastic layouts and facilities.

3 – Auchterhouse Country Sports
Auchterhouse is run by the Christie family, and is always a leading player in the north region as one of Scotland’s finest establishments. It is home to Commonwealth hero Drew Christie, who competes as part of the British Olympic Skeet team, but there is more than just ISSF disciplines available.
