Shooting receives £3million Olympic funding boost

UK Sport has announced an increase in funding to the tune of £3,077,236 for Tokyo 2020.

csm10-ed_ling_js-ed_ling_5For the Rio 2016 Olympics, UK Sport invested nearly £4million in to the shooting disciplines, which resulted in four people reaching the semi-finals and two shooters finishing with bronze medals.

This success has attracted more than £3million of additional investment for the next Olympic Games – a total of £7,028,124.

Archery has received a decrease in funding, along with fencing, weightlifting and wheelchair rugby.
