Shooters now have a beautiful new shooting destination under British ownership to visit across the pond.
Colin Burrows, a businessman and shooting enthusiast, bought the Port of the Islands Gun Club and renamed it Gulf Coast Clays earlier in December. Stretched over 50 acres of beautiful Floridian landscape, the club features two Trap layouts, two Skeet, a FiveStand layout, and a 15-stand Sporting course, though be sure to avoid the honorary crocodile-shaped member roaming the lakes nearby.
The club intends to build bridges to the UK and will be actively encouraging British shooters to visit the ground for some winter sunshine and Colin aims to team up with leading British coaches to host clinics. More information to come.
Colin saw that the club was for sale in the shooting press earlier this year, and he has teamed up with Cole Gunsmithing who is well-versed in selling and fine-tuning Beretta, Perazzi, Caesar Guerini and other Italian brands. The club will be managed by Brian Featheringham.
