Peter Masters: 4/5/1933-26/11/2014

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of County Durham shooter Peter Masters, following a long battle with cancer.

Peter Masters 2

A keen sportsman, Peter began shooting at an early age and enjoyed shooting in all its forms. When he wasn’t shooting clays he would often be out game shooting, wildfowling, pigeon shooting or even on the riverbank with a fishing rod in his hands.

Peter will be fondly remembered for the many years he spent on the clay-shooting circuit. In his long shooting career he competed across the north region and nationally, picking up numerous county and regional titles along the way. Peter was a familiar face at his local club – Marne CSC at Catterick. Even during his illness, Peter continued to regularly shoot and represent his club at league fixtures across the North East with his sons Tony and Steve, and his grandson, Philip.

Always a man willing to offer advice, assistance, stories and jokes, Peter will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all those who had the pleasure of meeting him on the circuit.
