Olympic shooters to benefit from national Ladies day

The GB Ladies shooting team is due to receive a funding boost in June thanks to a new initiative by the Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club, the women-only shooting club known for its fusion of cartridges and cake. Taking place on 27 June, the club’s National Ladies Shooting Day consists of simultaneous clay shooting events around the country, from which £1 of every entrance fee will be donated to the GB team’s efforts.

Over 20 clay grounds will host events, all of which include expert tuition over 30 clays plus hire of all the usual equipment, and entry costs £35. Hundreds of novices are expected to attend, with support pledged from Dubarry, Hull, Browning and the Duchess of Rutland. In addition to fundraising for the GB team, each event will hold a raffle to raise money for the Eve Appeal, which funds research into female cancers.
