Mark Winser picks up silver at the FITASC European Championship

At St Lambert in France last weekend, Mark Winser shot 190ex-200 to finish in joint-first place at the FITASC European Championship alongside Matthieu Delmas.

During a shoot-off to determine the winner, Mark felt he was incorrectly awarded a scored target and asked them to remove it. As that is not possible in the rules, he effectively won the championship but demanded to have another shoot-off. He then purposefully missed his final five clays to allow Matthieu, who Mark felt was the rightful champion, to take the title.

Carl Bloxham won bronze after finishing on 189 alongside Nick Hendrick, then winning a shoot-off 18-17. Carl’s score also secured gold in Veterans ahead of Steve Brightwell. Colin Saich won the Super Veterans with David Asher in third place behind France’s Jean-Pierre Milan.

Britain won silver in the Senior team category behind Italy, while the Ladies Brits finished behind France for second place, as did the Juniors. The British Veterans and Super Veterans secured gold.
