Altrincham near Manchester has the best clay shooter in the Houses of Parliament. Graham Brady MP hit 52ex-64 at West London Shooting School when he led the Commons to a victory over peers in the House of Lords.
The annual shoot takes the top three guns from each team and combines their score out of 192, and the Commons dominated the competition to hit 146. The Lords hit 114.
Captain of the Commons team Bill Wiggin MP, representing North Herefordshire, said: “It was a hard-fought contest this year but the Commons finally drew ahead of the Lords. There is no political relevance in this but all those who took part were happy to highlight the magnificent sport of shooting.”
