Hance holds out

Matt Hance has been named as victor at the 2012 Clay Shooting Classic.

Having posted an impressive 137 ex-150 amid testing conditions on Thursday, it seemed none could match Hance’s score despite better weather on Saturday. George Digweed, who has never won this event, came as Runner-up scoring 136.

A three-way tie left AAA class to be decided by a shoot-off, however Ben Husthwaite couldn’t make it back to compete. Paul Simpson and Sam Green battled it out in the shoot off with Simpson holding out to take the class.

Ladies was taken by Tracy Riddington on 105, with Janine Preece and Nicky Gryspeerdt tying on 103 for second

Phil Gray was the clear winner of juniors with 125, only Jake Moore coming close on 116

John Bidwell also took a comfortable win in vets with 129.

A massive thank you to EJ Churchill and all of the sponsors of this event, without whom this event would not be possible

The full report will be available in the Summer issue of Clay Shooting, which will be out on 28 June. For all scores click here
