James Dedman has won gold in Junior Double Trap at the ISSF World Shotgun Championships in Moscow.
Britain’s biggest up-and-coming Double Trap talent triumphed in Tuesday’s rain-soaked final ahead of India’s Ahvar Rizvi. The pair had gone neck-and-neck up to the very last target, which Rizvi missed, leaving the scoreboard 67-66 in Dedman’s favour.
This completes an incredible summer of international successes for Dedman. He took junior gold at the European Shooting Championships in Baku in July, then set a junior world record on the way to gold at the Junior World Cup in Porpetto.
But he said this latest win was the biggest of the lot: “This is by far my greatest achievement. It feels amazing.
“I actually didn’t suffer the rain. I’m kind of used to these weather conditions!”
