Brian wellies it

winter series Brian HutchinsonWinter weather proved no match for Brian Hutchinson, who clinched North Ayrshire Shooting Ground’s 26th DTL Winter Series crown.

Despite the miserable weather, Hutchinson’s consistent performance was rewarded with the High Gun slot, a pair of leather-lined Hunter Wellington boots and 1000 Mirage DTL cartridges worth over £400.

Everyone worked from the marked up scoring system to compensate for the winter conditions, but some scores didn’t require much assistance.

Ian Gibson performed well in AA Class to earn himself a pair of Hunter Wellingtons and 250 Mirage Super Target cartridges, as did Raymond Gargaro in A Class; John Sinclair in B and Alison McGarva in C.

Taking place over 10 shoots, with the seven best scores counting toward the total, meant the Veteran, Lady and Junior shoots stayed competitive, with Gus MacDonald, McGarva and David McMath winning respectively.

The North Ayrshire DTL takes place in Dalry, Scotland. The prize fund totalled more than £2000.
