Kevin Newton is packing his bags and moving to Slovenia to run the Shooting Range Gaj in Maribor.
Well known for hosting some of the biggest world championships and ISSF competitions, the most recent being the European Championships, Kevin said Maribor will “continue to host some of the biggest events there is in the future.”
Podimore Shooting Ground has hosted some big competitions and selection shoots over the past 30 years but it has recently suffered from noise complaints and was refused an application to extend its opening hours earlier this year. The closure also follows the collapse of another iconic British shooting location in the south west this year, Southern Counties.
Kevin said: “There’s plenty of clay traps for sale, about 50 in total and they need to go before the end of September.”
If you want to inquire further about what traps and facilities are available to buy, contact Kevin on 01428 223858 or 07582 311735.
The traps for sale are from the closed Dorset ground not Podimore having spoken to Kevin this morning also the ground is for sale and although noise has been a problem it is not an issue on this occasion.
