Aaron Heading wins bronze in Acapulco

The Men’s Trap competition at the ISSF World Cup has ended with Aaron Heading picking up a bronze medal behind Alberto Fernandez and Antonio Bailon from Spain.

The Spanish pair led the qualification period with Antonio hitting 124 and Alberto tying with Italy’s Daniele Resca on 123. Aaron shot 122 alongside Yannick Peeters of Belgium and Alessandro De Souza Ferreira Peru.

In the final, Alessandro dropped out first, with Yannick falling away soon after. Aaron had only missed three after 25, whereas Daniele sat on 20, which guaranteed Aaron a medal.

The Brit was a few clays behind the Spaniards, but then dropped five out of six to end his day for good. Then the pressure got to Antonio, while Alberto went perfect in his final 17 for gold.
