Peter Wilson has hit his aim of being the world’s number one shooter as of 1 September, in the ISSF’s official rankings.
The 24-year-old Dorset shooter hit the high spot after winning gold in the final ISSF World Cup event last month, as well as his team gold at the European Championships in August (see page 55 for a full report), hot on the heels of his silver medal and quota place won in style in Chile, in March.
Peter, who has been shooting since his school days at Millfield, told us he’d had a fantastic season so far and now has his sights set on the Olympics, training hard for next season’s run-up with his coach, 2004 Olympic Double Trap gold medallist Ahmed Al Maktoum.
