Eley Hawk has come on board with a generous sponsorship deal including 35,000 cartridges. Now, by adding an additional £10,000 in cash sponsorship and publicity, Clay Shooting magazine has also given its backing to the UK Game Fair – the replacement show for the CLA Game Fair – to be held at Stoneleigh, Warwickshire on 22-24 July 2016. The total sponsorship package so far is worth over £20,000, and the organisers are still in talks with other potential partners.

01_D3U5179At the same time, organisers announced a host of competitions and attractions to be found on the UK Game Fair clay line, run in its entirety by EJ Churchill. For the competitive shot, the clay line offers the first UK Game Fair Classic – a 50-bird English Sporting championship – as well as prize money across the classes and categories. To add to the variety, there will also be a 25-bird Sportrap event, again, with substantial prize money across the classes and categories in this event. Additional prize money will be added to the highest aggregate scores over both events to make provide an exciting new challenge for the competitive shot.

But while competition is all part of it, it’s not the whole game fair experience. For the newcomer trying shotgun shooting for the first time, there will be plenty of have-a-go stands staffed by professional shooting instructors. These will enable complete newcomers to try shooting under supervision in a completely safe environment with formal instruction. In addition, there will be help and advice for improvers, with our experienced coaching team able to provide hint and tips – and there will be the chance to try guns from leading manufacturers.

2014_05_10_99_351“We’re delighted to be involved with the team who’ve had the vision to launch the fieldsports-focused Game Fair at Stoneleigh,” said Sir Edward Dashwood, owner of the EJ Churchill marque. “We’ve worked with the organisers for over 10 years, having run three successful Clay Shooting Classic Sporting events and the British Schools and Young Shots Championship with the team at Clay Shooting magazine, and we are delighted to be involved in providing the clay pigeon shooting in its entirety at Stoneleigh this summer.”

EJ Churchill will be taking a substantial stand at the UK Game Fair and will be running all aspects of the clay pigeon shooting, including the provision of an armoury for visitors to leave their shotguns while they enjoy the show. All the traps will be provided by Promatic, the market-leading trap firm whose traps are behind numerous world-class events including the FITASC World Championships, World English Sporting Championships and the Clay Shooting Classic.
