Across two courses at the EJ Churchill shooting estate on Wednesday 5 June, the 2013 Clay Shooting Classic kicked off in style. Members of the army, police, fire service, prison staff and the navy represented a wide spread of Britain’s service industry, as the sun shined brightly over High Wycombe.
Quality scores were posted on both the red and blue courses, with many feeling the latter to be of a tougher standard. Despite this, several people felt there wasn’t a target on either course that they couldn’t hit – meaning competitors would have to maintain focus and concentration over 150 targets throughout the day to stand a chance of finishing on the podium.
The prizes up for grabs were Eley cartridges, medals and a much sought after trophy dispersed between class winners, overall team win and over High Gun.
