The Oxford Gun Company is staging many events between September 2014 and January 2015, including charity shoots, new shotgun launch days, schools challenge events and game days.
On Saturday 27 September from 10am to 5pm the company will have an open day for the public, with free entry and many discounts offered on shooting clothing. Manufacturers with stands at the open day will include: Browning, Winchester, Miroku, AYA, Rizzini, Lincoln and Zoli. The gun shop has a large selection of clay, game, side-by-side and over-and-under firearms available, both English and imported.
There is a 50-bird Sporting re-entry event with Open, Ladies and Juniors classes. The Browning Rabbit Mania event will also take place on the day.
The final of the Rizzini Classic Series 2014 will take place at the Oxford Gun Company on Saturday 18 October. There will be over £9,000 worth of prizes for the top five shooters, including a Rizzini Premier Shotgun for the winners of both categories – Open and Under-21.
There will also be three pheasant shooting events held in association with the Oxford Gun Company over the rest of 2014 and early 2015. The Kirtlington event on 10 December 2014 will begin at 9am in the courtyard of the Old Stud. The day will be approximately 150 birds at a cost of £650 per gun: for birds shot over the bag it will be £36 per bird, which will be divided between the guns at the end of the day. Lunch is served at the lodge and is included in the price.
There will be two Weston Wood events on 19 November 2014 and 14 January 2015. The shoots are the only ones of their kind in the area and have a mix of pheasants and partridges. Breakfast will be held at the lodge at 9:15am and a two-course meal will be served at lunch. The day’s shoot will be approximately 150 birds at a cost of £630 per gun: for birds shot over the bag it will be £35 per bird, which will again by divided among the guns and paid at the end of the day.
