Perazzi shooter Matt Coward-Holley cleaned up on the warm-up day for the Clay Shooting Classic DTL to win the Classic Double Rise and Classic Down The Line competitions and pick up High Gun prizes totalling £1,000.
As a prelim for the ultimate 200-bird Clay Shooting Classic DTL on Saturday and Sunday at Bywell Shooting Ground, British Shooting’s top Double Trap shooter showed his versatility by taking on the tough Northumberland targets, which were breeze-affected at times.
His score of 93ex-100 in the Double Rise surpassed his competition to win the £500, as he beat all other shooters, including Paul Chaplow and Austin Coxed on 91, convincingly.
Earlier in the day, he set a tough score for the later shooters to chase in the Classic Down The Line, as he nailed all 100 birds, and barrelled just three of them. He was matched on 100/297 by another Perazzi shooter, Austin Coxhead, and the two had to shoot-off for the top prize of £500. Austin didn’t miss a clay but did barrel three clays again, while Matt scored 25/75.
