George takes number 23

The greatest Sporting clay shooter ever has added another crown to his glorious career.

photoGeorge Digweed won his 23rd world championship this week after a super six shoot-off against Richard Faulds, Paul Simpson, Nick Hendrick, Nigel Hart and Bill McGuire.

He finished the main competition with 96 on each course to score 192. George then hit a further 17 to finish on 209, nine targets clear of his nearest finalist.

Bill McGuire, representing USA, scored 200, with a world champion from last year, Richard Faulds, finishing on 199. Nick Hendrick hit 199, with Paul Simpson one behind on 198, and Nigel Hart with 197.
