Drennan’s endurance test

Drennan Kendermine, the man with the world record for the fastest 25 targets shot, is looking to set another record on Saturday at Rugby & District Trap Club – the fastest man to break 100 targets.

Unknown-1

Speaking to Clay Shooting magazine, Drennan said: “This is more of an endurance test than a speed record. But I’m ex-forces, so endurance training to me is mental. We’ve got the right guns, the right ammo and the right kit, so hopefully we’ll get it done.”

The attempt has attracted several sponsors, including Ed Lyons, MacWet, Browning, Lyalvale Express, Hot Rox, Bowman Traps, Castellani, Corsivia, Ammoshack and Chris Cooke.

Drennan got the idea of breaking and setting world records when his friend was organising the fastest 25 clays record attempt. “They wanted to borrow my gun because they needed a Beretta UGB25, which I had, but I thought why don’t I do it? We’re using the Browning Maxus semi-automatic this time because of it’s reliability, and we’re only allowed two cartridges in the gun at one time. We’ll be using 27-gram Lyalvale Express Power Red.”

The world record holder said he has a time in mind for the 100-bird attempt, but wanted to keep that to himself for now. It will take a few weeks for Guinness to confirm whether or not the world record is set.

Clay Shooting wishes Drennan the best of luck. See his 25-bird world record from last time below.
