Sporting off to cracking start

Ballydugan 1The Sporting 2013 season at Ballydugan got off to a flying start, with shooters greeted by bright weather, resplendent grounds and some cracking scores.

The first 100-bird registered shoot of the season saw a good course set up by Kenny Thomas and his team and the impressive scores right through the classes led many to believe the long-standing national Sporting record of 98 would be toppled.

Jim Burns was a man on a mission over the winter months and, dropping a target on his first stand, broke the next 49 before dropping another one.

Four more escaped but Jim smoked his way round this enjoyable course to emerge High Gun on 94.

New members Chris Gorman and Clifford Porter also got off on excellent footing, taking first and third in AA.
