Phil Gray storms the Martin Scoley Memorial

Phil Gray stormed to victory at the Martin Scoley Memorial Trophy shoot on 2 May at Sporting Targets. The 100 Sporting registered was set over 13 stands, culminating with a pair of diving targets from the 110ft tower.

Phil missed just two targets to win High Gun, and Jezz Towell was the nearest on 95. Mickey Rouse and Dave Gooding hit 94 and Richard Bunning scored 92.

A-class was shared by Joe Green, Ollie Bradshaw and Michael Fryer, with Bert Mason and Steve Thompson on 89. Ron Salmon won B-class with 91, while C-class honours went to Mark Ellis, who hit 82 to finish three targets ahead of John Mitchell.

The Bedfordshire Sporting Championship was shot at the same time, and Veteran Jim Munday took the High Gun honours with 91. Dave Ferriman won Juniors, while Becky Elmore shot 81 to win Ladies.
