Peter leads Performance Programme

Peter Wilson has been awarded a Podium place on the British Shooting Performance Programme for 2014.

Peter Wilson is congratulated by coach Ahmed Al Maktoum

He leads a collection of 10 Podium Potential shooters recognised by the British Shooting and UK Sport who are Ed Ling, Steve Scott, Amber Hill, Mike Gilligan, Aaron Heading, Abbey Burton, Rory Warlow, Charlotte Kerwood, Elena Allen and Jennifer McIntosh.

Peter Wilson told Clay Shooting: “It’s fantastic. I haven’t had time to process it yet but it means absolutely everything to me. Without the help of British Shooting and UK Sport my job would be impossible.”

Peter also discussed his plans to start training this year, and maybe enter some competitions if his performance is of standard.

A Podium athlete is someone who has a realistic chance of winning a medal at the next Olympic or Paralympic Games, and Podium Potential places comprise shooters whose performances suggest they have realistic medal-winning capabilities for 2020.
