New targets at Southdown

Shaun Peckham, one of Southdown Gun Club’s premier target setters for years, is moving on from the popular shooting ground.

Southdown is entering its 30-year anniversary and club director Shaun Miller was not expecting to receive Peckham’s notice. He said: “It was with surprise that I accepted his resignation, especially with some very exciting, high-profile shoots on the calendar this year. But I understand and respect his need to change his work-life balance.”

After working together for three years, Miller has been actively involved in setting up targets at Southdown and this good work will continue . The 2013 CPSA ground of the year is a specialist in Sporting targets and with many important competitions coming up – including FITASC selection shoots in March, big competitions in August, and the anniversary celebrations taking place throughout the year – the ground will introduce variety, with new stands and further investment, perhaps with outside target setters as guest course designers.
