First DSG meeting results

The Disabled Shooters Group started its season with a chilly competition at Orston Shooting Ground on 14 March. The shooting soon heated up, however, as participants tackled a tricky layout, with the flat teal on stand one proving particularly troublesome.

In A-class, Jamie Gutteridge shot 27, beating Adrian Last by just two clays. In B-class Jim Cole scored 19, pipping Alec Sperling by two clays, and in C-class new member Stephen Godfrey tied with Adrian Barron.

On the Skeet range, meanwhile, Darrel White pulled off a convincing win on his home ground with 25-straight, though Jamie Gutteridge was close behind with 24. Jim Cole won B-class on 19 and, Stephen took High Gun in C with 13. DTL A-class was won by Sam Nunn with a 23/66, beating Adrian and Jamie who shot 22/64. Craig Williams took B-class with a 21/59, and Stephen Godfrey won C-lass.

Overall High Gun Standing was Jamie with 73/80, Sitting was Adrian with a 69, and High Gun Able-Bodied was Paul Zaitschenko with a 70.

Calvin Davies deserves an honourable mention, whose good shooting put him in B-class for Skeet and DTL, and whose wife kindly raised some much needed funds on the raffle. They would also like to wish members Jamie Gutteridge, Andy Womble and Julie Sperling, as well as all those nominated, luck in the CPSA awards on Sunday.

21 May – Cloudside
