The US-based Professional Sporting Clays Association (PSCA) has announced a first annual tour of professional clay shooting talents.
Sixty of USA’s top shooting athletes will compete against each other for a stake in a hefty financial purse. Beyond the excitement of a major touring competition of clay shooters, will be the television support provided by NBC Sports Network over nine primetime and weekend telecasts in July.
This PGA-style tour could signal a new movement for the sport that sees clay shooting go the way of golf and tennis that might develop sponsorship and spectators culminating in Ryder Cup-type tournaments. The PSCA boasts 60 recognisable names such as Wendell Cherry, Vincent Hancock, Brad Kidd Jr and Anthony Matarese Jr, which should garner significant interest.
