Beretta lays down DTL gauntlet

One skilled shot will get their hands on a brand new Beretta 692 Trap gun at Britain’s DTL shooting weekend at Bywell in June.

GMK has announced it is sponsoring the event and there is a string of top prizes, including a total of five Silver Pigeon 1 Sporters, as well as lots of others.

The weekend kicks off with a sponsors’ day on Friday 7 June, the Dougall Memorial Shoot on Saturday and culminates with the English Open on Sunday – plus, of course, the Beretta 692 challenge.

This is open to everyone who shoots on all three days. One shot who manages 100/300 each day (300/900) will win a brand new 692 shotgun worth over £3,000.

The Beretta 692, being showcased at the weekend, is a mix of tradition and technology in an elegant and striking new design. Three key new features are Steelium Plus Barrels, a wider receiver and Beretta’s new B FAST balance system.

Bywell Shooting Ground, in Felton, Northumberland, is renowned for presenting excellent targets, giving shooters the best opportunity to achieve the amazing score that will clinch them the 692.

Karl Waktare, managing director of Beretta’s UK distributor GMK, said: “We’re very pleased to be sponsoring this prestigious weekend. This presents us with a great opportunity to promote this stunning new competition shotgun and also to raise the profile of the shoot. The gauntlet has been laid down – good luck to all who shoot over the three days.“

The impressive ground is directly off the A1 and the event is being run by venue manager Allan Henry, who has shot for England 11 times and holds the great honour of captaining a winning team in Ireland.
