Elis Jones followed up his recent success at the Dougall Memorial by taking the title at the Scottish DTL Championships at the newly relaunched National Shooting Centre – Scotland at the weekend.
He didn’t start the weekend with the best score of his shooting career – 97/288 – but then High Gun of the first day was a surprising 99/293 from Paul Chaplow.
Sunday saw slightly improved scores as Elis and Ian Mullarkey both hit 100/296.
Not satisfied with Junior High Gun, Elis went on to best Ian in the shoot-off and take the Championship title, as well as High Gun over 2 days.
Carrie Smith won the Ladies category on 96/283, while Peter Mackay won the Veterans on 99/290.
