With three perfect rounds of 25, and never dropping more than three shots on any other layout, George Digweed further solidified his position as the greatest clay shooter ever by winning his third world title in one year and the 26th of his illustrious career.
His score of 190 was a massive achievement in difficult weather conditions, but it marked a clear win ahead of Australia’s Damien Birgan and Italy’s Michael Spada, who were tied on 189.
There was further British success as ex-pat Doug Vine finished fifth overall, tied with three others, but just one target behind them on 182 was Cheryl Hall, whose incredible score meant she won the Ladies competition – her second this year.
Ben Husthwaite was also in the top ten and Junior William Baughan and Mark Marshall sat in 21st and 22nd, respectively.
