Here’s the new Articles… same as the old Articles

A second draft of the proposed Articles of Association from the CPSA has been released.

Since Clay Shooting‘s news story in last month’s issue, the CPSA has returned with a redrafted proposal and is inviting members to provide feedback on the website.

cpsa logoThe redraft has already come under fire from one member who said, “They have not listened to the regions. Only things changed are the typos… all the dangerous stuff is there.”

The CPSA website states that it is still: “Seeking constructive feedback and comments from members.”

The closing date for consultation will be 28 July, 2013. From there, the final draft will be published in September, and an EGM will take place in October to make a decision of the special resolution to amend the Articles.

To download the documents, including a general introduction and a detailed explanation, visit the CPSA website, where you can also submit your feedback. You may also write to the CPSA at: ‘Articles Consultation’, CPSA, Edmonton House, Bisley National Shooting Centre, Brookwood, Woking, GU24 0NP, or email comments to consultation@cpsa.co.uk.

People the point of the new Articles is to make the rules and constitution of the Cpsa…robust and fit for purpose now but more importantly…..for the future….when many of us are no longer around.
It is up to ‘us’ the old guard of the sport….and ‘all of you’ the existing and new members of the sport…to ensure that we have a safe legacy…..in an Association that cannot be stolen or given away…..and one that governs with fairness, justice and common sense to all the membership that supports it by paying a fee. It should give as much time and effort to grass roots shooters as it does to chasing the Olympic dream and funding…….that only ever goes to the elite…..or to another level of administration.
But most of all…..they should not forget that they (the board) are just ordinary shooters like we are……and their one job is to manage ‘our affairs’ by listening to the membership. Otherwise they do not deserve to be there.

Read the information in the new draft……….compare the ‘two’ versions to see what has changed………and then decide……..’ARE THE BOARD LISTENING TO YOU?’

After that……..send in your feedback…….hope it gets listened too…….then…..sometime in the near future (probably September / October)……’YOU’ …..get to vote…..!!
